I started my yoga journey in Goa, India in 2000 and have been practising yoga ever since and have been teaching yoga since 2010 after completing my Yoga Alliance 200-hour RYT Teacher Training in Ashtanga in 2009 with Brian Cooper. Now a qualified Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals, with over 1500 Hours training and over 14 years teaching experience, I teach a variety yoga classes, run yoga workshops and retreats and offer private and corporate yoga sessionsIncorporating Sound Healing with Gongs and Tibetan Singing Bowls, and various instruments, Yoga Nidra meditations and Self Myofascial Release into my mindfulness yin yoga sessions to encourage relaxation, deep releasing, creating a sense of letting go, balance and grounding.I have been fortunate to have practiced Ashtanga Yoga at the Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India with Shirath in 2008 and I have trained with David Swenson in Manchester in 2012.I studied Yin Yoga in 2015 and studied Yin and MBSR Restorative Yoga Therapy with the Mindful Yoga Academy. I also found studied Rocket yoga a yang dynamic practice and a great way to challenge oneself and to find focus and increase energy.I love practising and teaching Mindful Yin and have further studied advanced Yin Yoga with Norman Blair and Sarah Lo and trained in Yin yoga with TCM, Myoyin and Accuyin with Jo Phee, Senior Assistant to Paul Grilley, founder of Yin Yoga.I studied Pre and Post Natal Pregnancy Yoga with Uma Dinsmore Tuli and Yoga London and teach Pre-natal classes and offer private sessions.I now teach Mindful and modified Ashtanga yoga that is suitable for all levels and although Ashtanga can be an extremely challenging practice, by being mindful in your practice using awareness, breathe, variations and modifications, Ashtanga can be a beautiful practice and accessible to many. It can be adapted to suit your own energy levels and capabilities, practising with your own breath, and using yoga props and incorporating mindfulness into your practice.Yin can also be challenging owing to the long holds, but it works in a very different way, increasing flexibility of the joints and connective tissues, stimulating the meridian channels to balance ones Chi and is a very satisfying, deep releasing meditative practice. We need both Yin and Yang in our lives to create balance. It’s important to take time out of our busy lives to bring our focus inwards and develop our self-awareness. Yin is the perfect practice for this.I have recently studied in Menopause Yoga and now mainly focused on organising and running retreats in the Peak District, Algarve, and Goa.I am honoured to be able to teach yoga and to pass on what I have learnt to others. My yoga practice brings peace and calm into my life and a huge sense of well-being especially during times of change and difficulty. Yoga has supported me through many difficult times and supports me in the present moment, now adapting my practice and teachings to support others. Sharing Yoga is Yoga.
