Open Air Learning is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating meaningful experiential learning opportunities for kids ages 4 - 18. We believe kids learn best when they explore, take risks, and engage with the natural world. Our hands-on programs help children build confidence, curiosity, and leadership skills.Programs Offered:Forest School (Ages 4 – 9)Forest School focuses on sensory-rich, play-based learning in a natural environment. Children spend their days outdoors, engaging in unstructured play, guided nature walks, and creative activities that stimulate their curiosity and support their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. The program encourages children to develop independence, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of belonging to the natural world.Outdoor Learning Program (Ages 4-12)The Outdoor Learning Program is for children ages 4 to 12 looking for more structured outdoor learning experiences. This program combines adventure with environmental education; children learn about local ecosystems, wildlife, and sustainability while developing teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking skills. The program is designed to allow for learning in the great outdoors, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of nature.Note: Forest School and our Outdoor Learning Program run parallel. Parents can register for either and move seamlessly between them based on the needs of their child.Unique Learning DaysUnique Learning Days are designed to inspire creative thinking and innovation through one-of-a-kind educational experiences. These days feature special themes and activities that challenge children to think outside the box and explore new ideas. From imaginative problem-solving tasks to creative art projects inspired by nature, Unique Learning Days provide opportunities for children to engage in hands-on, interdisciplinary learning. Each day is crafted to spark curiosity, encourage experimentation, and foster a love of discovery.Teen Connections (Ages 13+)Is a space for teens to build friendships, explore interests, and develop leadership skills in a supportive, outdoor setting.
