The Waterbury (CT) Chapter is one of 299 chapters which includes international chapters in the UK and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. With service at our core and friendship as our bond, The Waterbury (CT) Chapter has been in continuous service to the Waterbury community for 50 years. Whether planting dogwood trees at Waterbury’s City Hall, contributing to local families and the homeless during the holidays, or partnering with local and national organizations such as American Heart Association, The National Kidney Foundation and the local organizations; Granville Academy, Waterbury Public School System, Bridge to Success, Waterbury PAL, The Palace Theater and Girls Inc.; our Medical Fridays or Saturday Academy, both in partnership with the Waterbury Public School System, service to the community is paramount to our mission. Our commitment to Waterbury has resulted in the Waterbury (CT) Chapter awarding well over $60,000 in scholarships to deserving local high school students. In 2021 The Waterbury (CT) Chapter expanded its focus to include acting on the state of Black maternal health and infant mortality in the City of Waterbury. Through our partnership with Bridge to Success we created the #Day43 campaign which brings awareness and action in the form for community forums, data collection, diaper drives and hospital questionnaire creation that includes questions for new admissions regarding any recent pregnancy or birth.
