Holy Mundane is run by Lia Leibman (she/they) and Tara McCulloch (she/her). Lia and Tara are both herbalists devoted to tending the plants and sharing their magic in community. Lia and Tara met 11 years ago at an 80’s-themed dance party, and they’ve been friends ever since.A few years after college, they both decided to attend the California School of Herbal Studies 2-year Community Herbalist Program. Together, they tended over 400 medicinal plants at the school garden and dove deep into clinical herbalism studies.Since then, Lia has gone on to become a clinical herbalist, medicine maker, and teacher. She also draws on her B.A. in Biology to teach botany. Lia is a devoted apprentice to their ancestral traditions and is overjoyed to teach Jewish ancestral herbalism, as well as many botany and human physiology courses. She is passionate about helping connect people to the plants, traditions, and healing practices that can help them thrive.Tara has gone on to become an herbal teacher: teaching thousands of students about making herbal remedies with common herbal allies. Outside of work, she has spent the last 2 years studying massage and plans to get her CMT certification this February.
