The Brazen-Faced Varlets’ mission is to produce consequential works with strong artistic integrity while being committed to promoting the growth of female theater artists. We seek to break out of the traditional and stereotypical gender roles onstage and behind the scenes. Our work is for everybody as we strive to challenge, to provoke, and to delight our audiences.Beyond our mission statement, we strive to achieve these organizational goals:Providing women with compelling roles.Re-imaging the theatrical canon in order to allow women to portray iconic roles.Producing at least one show per season written by a female playwright.Allowing artists to grow and develop their theatrical talents.Producing work that focus on political and social issues that affect womenRaising awareness and funds for charities and organizations that provide needed services for women.Having pay-what-you-can nights and participating in the Arts Access program for members of our community who wish to attend our performances but may not have the finances to afford a full price ticket.
