Jahiti, a Wilmington-based singer-songwriter renowned for his unique blend of roots, reggae, and soul, has been an influential figure in the music scene for over 25 years. A founding member of the legendary group Brown FISH, Jahiti helped define their iconic hip-hop meets reggae sound. His solo career began with the release of "FISH Bowl (The People’s Album)" in 2003, which was marked by its introspective lyrics and community-centric themes. Follow-up projects like "IS" and "Manifest" further showcased his evolution as an artist, blending various musical styles with poignant lyrical content.In 2015, Jahiti relocated to Wilmington, Delaware, initiating a significant phase in his career with a project aimed at rebranding his musical journey spanning 25 years. This new chapter reflects not only a geographical shift but also a deeper exploration of his artistic identity, promising a refreshing take on his already rich musical legacy.Beyond his musical endeavors, Jahiti has dedicated much of his life to community service and activism, particularly in Baltimore. He has been actively involved in movements such as the 300 Men March and educational initiatives, using his platform to promote positive change and unity within the community. He has done extensive work with at risk juveniles with handgun charges and served as Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Wilmington. during the Purzycki Administration.
