Pilgrim Candle Co., Inc., a Massachusetts-based candle manufacturing company, opened its doors for business in 1992. It started as a small one person operation, tucked in the corner of a 19th century paper mill, currently known as The Mill at Crane Pond.The journey began when our founder, Joe Shibley, was given a layoff notice from his employer. Instead of interviewing in the job market, Joe spent his extra time in the public library gathering information about candle making and material suppliers. After eight months of research and testing, he sold his first candle under the brand name "Pilgrim Candle". Since that first .85 cent sale, thirty years ago, Pilgrim Candle has developed a high quality line of scented candles for "Candle Lovers" all around the world.In 2000 Pilgrim Candle expanded its already busy operation by acquiring Main Street Candlery, a local producer of scented candles. A few years later in 2007, Pilgrim expanded into private label manufacturing producing premium high quality candles for brands such as Calvin Kline, Vie Luxe, Helen Julia, Sephora and many more.Pilgrim Candle will continue to handcraft it’s products as it always has while it looks for new trends in fragrances for its customer base in 2022 and beyond.
