Did you learn about how to do Updos in Hair School? Neither did I!I DID however win the Updo contest that masqueraded as “education”. I attended Cosmetology School in Downtown Crossing in Boston when I was 24. Since I had already been to college, it kinda seemed like a step backward. LOL to anyone who actually still thinks that! I was given 3 mannequins at the beginning of school and graduated with those same 3 mannequins. Since I was on the tightest budget, I literally couldn’t afford to buy a single extra. Because I knew I had to stay busy at school while making that mannequin last till graduation, I logged my Cosmo hours styling rather than cutting or coloring (that was reserved for friends at home who brought over wine:).I started my professional education track with Aveda where I learned to plan relevant content, present in an entertaining way, and was mentored by elite educators. Starting out on the hair color path, I always knew I wanted to branch out and teach styling. In 2017 I created an Updo class that I taught across the country every weekend as UpStyled was in demand booked months in advance. Following the success of my first class, I added Style Blueprinting and found a love for creating not just classes, but full curriculum. My Curriculum creation is always born out of talking to other stylists and learning what they need most to succeed! I launch new and creative education from January to May and from May till October I drive around all of New England offering On Location Styling services aka putting together 2024 educational offerings.*ps if you’re in a class with me, you’ll get the real real and I do say “fuck” probably too much so byo swear jar;0
