Born from a passion for community, creativity, and progress, Opus is the CSCCC’s initiative to fuse people’s passions with prosperous career pathways. With a rich history of fostering artistic and cultural engagement, CSCCC has evolved from its initial mission to rejuvenate the City Auditorium and is focused on transforming challenges into opportunities for workforce development and job creation.Opus Creative Industries, the workforce programs for the Colorado Springs Community Cultural Collective, is where potential meets opportunity. The name “Opus” resonates with our mission, derived from the Latin for ‘work’ and reflected in the modern meaning of a significant artistic endeavor. This dual definition captures the essence of our goal: to deliver real-time, earn-and-learn educational experiences that serve the community through connecting purpose and productivity.As we transition from our focus on the City Auditorium, Opus represents a new direction — yet remains intimately tied to our original principles. Under the leadership of Linda Weise, CEO and president of CSCCC, Opus connects individuals to jobs and their passions, paving the way to future prosperity.Our diverse programs cater to various creative industries, including culinary arts, media, theater technical design, and early childhood education enriched with music and dance. From the budding chefs and restaurant owners in our culinary and hospitality program to the exploration of art and music in our Simple Gift Schoolhouse playgroups, Opus nurtures the seeds of creativity across Colorado Springs.Anticipation is high for our upcoming digital media and theater technical arts program, which will launch in 2024.
