T his day is all about getting out with your fellow Out There Award Ambassadors, volunteers, sounding board members and graduates whilst having a chance to put back into Scotland’s great outdoors by planting trees with The Borders Forest Trust. The good news is it's the right time of year to finally get planting trees so if you want a break from removing tree tubes this event is for you.
We'll be keeping to the ethos of the Out There Award, where the day is about exploring, volunteering and the social element as opposed to covering vast distances which may exclude some people from taking part.
Sam from Ramblers Scotland will be along for the day as well as the font of knowledge which is Adrian from the Borders Forest Trust. We'll also have Claire along from the Ramblers Scotland team who's excited about meeting you all in person.
The main thing though is to get out and spend some time with folk from the Out There Award community. It's a great opportunity to learn more about next steps with the Out There Award and with how you can get invovled with Ramblers Scotland. We'll do the usual group chat and logistics planning, and kit lists before the event and try and make car sharing work for the day.
To see more of what the award looks like follow our young adult development officer Sam Knight, who is @rambingknight on Instagram and Twitter . Sam delivers skills and exploring days as well as managing Out There Award next steps.
