Edificata nel Xli sec. nel 1599 gli Orsini ne modificarono l’assetto romanico, la ex Chiesa di Santa Maria in Grotta Pinta fu Cappella di Palazzo Orsini Savelli. Nel 1889 scelta come sede della prima Accademia dei Cuochi e Pasticcieri di Roma.Nei suoi oltre 30 anni di attività Cappella Orsini ha accumulato un importante patrimonio di opere d’arte che seguono vari criteri ma tutte riconducibili ad un principio di grande intellegibilità, capacità comunicativa e sempre riferite a tradizioni spesso profondamente radicate nelle culture di appartenenza. Oltre 1500 opere di interesse etno antropologico provenienti da tutto il mondo che vanno dal secondo millennio a.C. fino al novecento.Cappella Orsini stands on the ruins of the cavea of ​​the ancient Theater of Pompey.
