Chef Rob Curley runs Slemish Market Club, a fun, creative & innovative pop up dining experience using produce from Slemish Market Garden in Ballymena and Co.Antrim in Northern Ireland. This is a six course surprise menu comprising of a drink, wee bite , starter, fish course, meat course and dessert. The supper club is held in different venues around Ballymena, Antrim ,Northern Ireland , Republic of Ireland and Europe and lasts 3 - 3.5 hours .The bespoke menu changes each time according to what is seasonal. An example of a previous dishes served at the supper club is Lough Neagh Eel with smoked barley groats, garlic scapes and pickled cherries served with fried eel bone. The Irish Coconut a hollowed out Potato filled with Poteen , Gorse Cordial & Ballymena Hay or the Hangover Sandwich black pudding, potato bread,egg yolk jam , whiskey & bramley apple ketchup .A guarantee to cure any hangover!The menu tells a story of the area, the people and the place. At the beginning of each meal, Chef Rob provides a short talk explaining how the food was grown and cooked.The land, sea ,rivers and lakes are really important to our gastronomy . That’s why every ingredient is chosen to make sure we honour & pay tribute to such an important resource of our cuisine.
