Safe Shelter is a 25-bed emergency shelter in West Asheville, NC, dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming space for families and individuals experiencing homelessness. We prioritize intact families and individuals who struggle to access shelter otherwise, ensuring they can stay together in a trauma-informed, housing-first environment. Our compassionate staff—many with lived experience of homelessness—offer case management, supportive services, and community connections to help guests find stable housing. Since opening, 70.1% of our guests have successfully exited to housing, demonstrating our commitment to long-term solutions. At Safe Shelter, we believe in dignity, community, and care for all who walk through our doors.
