The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. (ITCA) Tribal Water Systems (TWS) Program provides free trainings for Tribal personnel who are responsible for the production, treatment and distribution of drinking water for public consumption, as well as the collection and treatment of wastewater. The goal of the ITCA Program is to provide each Tribal utility with the means to protect public health. To achieve this goal, the ITCA Program makes free training available for Tribal drinking water and wastewater system operators who maintain systems on tribal lands that are located within USEPA Region 5 through 10 (a service area that spans 28 states). These trainings empower Tribal water utility personnel to operate their systems to the best of their systems’ capabilities. In addition, the ITCA Program serves as a technical assistance provider and as a clearinghouse for updates on current water and wastewater issues, regulations and new trainings on an “as needed” basis.
