Muslim Volunteer Malaysia (MVM) is a legally registered organization under the Registrar of Societies on December 30, 2014. It was founded by a group of young individuals led by Muhammad Bin Jantan, also known as Ya Muhammad, the founder of the Harian Islam blog and the original owner of the Facebook page Bercinta Selepas Nikah.
Ya Muhammad began his humanitarian and volunteer work in 2012, with his first mission to Palestine. Upon returning, he initiated various volunteer activities under the name Harian Islam, including outreach programs for the homeless in Kuala Lumpur and flood relief missions in Kelantan and Pahang.
In 2014, he proposed the idea of establishing an NGO to better coordinate aid efforts, manage finances, and organize volunteers. His close friends, who were also active in volunteer work, supported this vision. The initial draft for MVM’s formation was prepared in Shah Alam and later refined by volunteers with expertise in various fields. A meeting in Taman Mutiara Indah finalized the plan, and by mid-2014, the registration application was submitted. On December 30, 2014, following Ya Muhammad’s return from the Kelantan flood relief mission, MVM was officially approved.
Initially operating from a house, MVM later moved to a permanent office in Bandar Puchong Jaya. Ya Muhammad’s expertise in blogging, social media, and marketing played a key role in MVM’s rapid growth and recognition. Additionally, his team of skilled and dedicated individuals contributed significantly to the organization’s early success.
