Hi, I'm Lucinda.I am an experienced perinatal peer support worker, self-compassion advocate and accredited forest therapy practitioner. My degree and background is in communications. After the birth of my second child and experiencing postnatal depression and anxiety, I became interested in the perinatal field. This led to a change of career and me volunteering and then working for a leading busy perinatal charity. I ran various courses for mums experiencing perinatal mental health problems as well as working 1:1 with mums providing a safe listening space and creating wellbeing plans unique for that individual and their lives. Never has a job felt more a privilege than working with so many incredible women and being part of their journey to being well.Through this work I became involved in a new research study looking at the feasibility of a nature-based intervention to support women experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties. I am now the Patient Public Involvement Lead, and it’s really exciting to see how spending time in nature could be a really supportive intervention for new mums experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties. From this I trained to become a forest therapy practitioner. Alongside my day job I enjoy running workshops bringing together nature connection with other themes that support wellbeing. My passion is to promote and support any individual who would like to build on their nature connection and explore the benefits this can bring. With a gentle, compassionate and creative approach, my intention is for you to feel safe and supported in sessions, to guide you in taking some time out from the ‘outside world’, and allow yourself to immerse into nature engaging your senses and curiosity for what nature has to offer you.Nature has been a valuable tool for me throughout my life and I believe it can support each of us in navigating life’s challenges as well as supporting our mental and physical health.Any questions please feel very welcome to message x
