As far back as I can remember, giving back has been a part of my life. I recall many trips to The Salvation Army with the neighborhood babysitter to feed the less fortunate. I didn't fully understand the concept but I still remember the smiles of gratitude on those people's faces as I contributed to the buffet line. As a family, my mother and grandmother have always donated clothes and poured into our homeless community - - the philanthropic bug is truly embedded in me.Over 5 years ago, I started a coaching practice that became a place of refuge for teens girls and women who looked like me. Here, they were able to be heard while working towards their healing journey. Little did they know that our time together actually helped guide me towards better tomorrows.Prize & Shine Foundation is now a proud 501c(3) that impacts the lives of hundreds through various community initiatives. I absolutely LOVE it here! We're most known for conducting annual laptop fundraisers for college students, The Doting Diva Project (for teen girls), other local parter collaborations, and now - - Take Care, Sis (for adult women!!!Take Care, Sis was created for the woman who deserve to be restored mentally, physically, emotionally and financially. I know first hand how difficult it can be to prioritize yourself when you're taking care of everyone and everything else.I've realized (by trial and error) that you cannot perform at your highest if you're not investing in yourself on a consistent basis. Everything suffers around if you're not at your best. I'm excited about the impact this amazing organization will make. It is truly a collective effort that I'm grateful for!Chi
