Since 2001, the Gertrude Players have brought people together to sing and to raise funds to support disadvantaged people through the promotion of art and culture – and particularly through music and drama. Our cetrepiece of bringing people together is the The Big Sing, which has been going since 2000. What started as half baked idea at 3am one Sunday morning, has developed into an alternate take on carolling, attracting in excess of 400 people through the streets of Fitzroy. There's no candles, no musical accompaniement, no santa hats. Just a bunch of people up for a sing through the streets of Fitzroy. We're driven by three simple rules: One in all in. Follow the leader. Sing it like you mean it.
