So who even am I?Do you see it? The thing? The truth?I am my paintings. My paintings are segments of my life. Reality, life itself, to me, is the greatest mystery. I am infinitely fascinated by life. Painting takes me somewhere else. I am obsessed. The act of painting means so much to me, the struggle, the joy, the sacrifice. I think to gain anything, one must sacrifice everything.My life then is a great sacrifice to art, aren’t all our lives?To paint is to deepen the mystery… to slowly draw back the curtain of reality to peek at what lies beneath.I am from Mittagong in the southern highlands of Australia, I grew up here.Since I was a child, I have had a deep fascination towards nature and animals, I still do. I have a loving family and my mates, who you will see scattered throughout my works, remind me to have FUNArt: I have, since I was young, always been drawn to art, but it was in my later years of school that I fell in love with it. I have been so lucky that the people around me have supported me to the extent that they have. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. Devoting my life to my art has been the greatest joy.To say I am truly delving into my passion is the greatest privilege in life, and I am eternally grateful for it.There is more to this world. The unseen. That which is felt…. And that is what I am interested in. I paint what I see, what I know, what I’m interested in, what I feel like painting.What am I trying to say with my paintings? Reality, the sad, joyous, beautifully twisted thing that it is, I want my works to show it, channel this thing through me to you, to show reality for what it is…. It’s overtime that patterns grow, endlessly unfolding.So, wait and see, I guess….
