Kimberly Cole is a natural artist, a trained dancer, an experienced Thespian, and a professional photographer. Cole has immersed herself in the visual and performing arts since childhood. She began playing the piano at six years old and was later introduced to the cello, saxophone, string bass, and percussion instruments. Cole has performed in various settings, as a soloist and ensemblist, in various roles, including accompanist, lead and background singer, worship leader, band leader and member, Music Director, Minister of Music, and theater pit band conductor.Cole studied Advertising and Graphic Design at Columbus College of Art & Design and later graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Public Management, Leadership and Policy, specializing in Nonprofit Management. Cole worked for the Columbus Metropolitan Library since 2014, most recently serving as a Customer Services Manager at the Northern Lights branch before joining Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) in 2023 as Manager of Grants and Community Engagement. In 2020 she was appointed to the Library’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts, including as a co-leader of the African-American Employee Resource Group, a member of the African-American Fiction Collection Review Committee, and a co-manager of the DEI Strategy Group. Before her role at the Library, she worked as the Alumni Association Coordinator for the United Way of Central Ohio’s Neighborhood Leadership Academy.Cole's community roles include Education Intern with Wexner Center for the Arts from 2016-2018, Vice President of the Board of Trustees at Central Community House from 2016-2018, and Education Accompanist and Community Partnership Specialist with BalletMet from 2019-2022.
