Gurnimit Singh is a third-generation Kirtan singer originally from Chandigarh, India, now based in Vancouver, Canada. He began his musical journey at a young age, learning tabla, vocals, harmonium, and Kirtan under the guidance of his family and esteemed teachers. By the age of nine, he was already performing Kirtan at community eventsGurnimit Singh is known for his deep involvement in Bhakti Kirtan, a devotional singing practice, and has over 20 years of performance experience. He is also a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and a vocal coach. His work extends to supporting the LGBTQI+ community, particularly through his initiative, Queer Kirtan, which aims to create healing spaces for LGBTQI+ individuals in the South Asian communityIn addition to his musical talents, Gurnimit is recognized for his contributions to community service, including sponsoring education and food supplies for underprivileged families in India.
