In 2022 VN Spark 1.0 launched and 100 VNs from all over the UK and Ireland attended.
Feedback from my first sold-out event was overwhelmingly positive and I had the best day delivering sessions & chatting with delegates alongside my guest speakers.
I’ve picked some of my favourite (super passionate!) RVNs to join me and I can’t wait to deliver this day alongside them. We will be delivering a variety of sessions to target different, frequently encountered areas of clinical practice. All sessions will have practical, real-life applications and be injected with up-to-date evidence-based nursing guidance. We will give you plenty of ideas and inspiration to take back to work & share with your colleagues, which you can use every day.
For VN Spark 2.0 I have introduced an exhibition, welcoming organisations and companies who encourage VNs and provide services and products that help us do our jobs even better.
After my guest speaker sessions have finished, we will have a whole panel Q+A where we will go through your questions from the day. We then roll into an evening social event where food and drinks will be provided and you will have the opportunity to network and natter with me, my guest speakers and each other.
My aim is simple, for you to leave at the end of the day feeling ignited, inspired, empowered and confident to shine bright like the amazing veterinary nurse that you are.
· 8 hours of CPD
· Exhibition access
· Session summaries
· Delegate goodie bag
· CPD certificate
· CPD session reflection pages with prompts to help you log your CPD easily
· Refreshments & lunch
· Free access to the evening networking/social event

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2009 and have worked in both primary care practices and a referral hospital. Since qualifying, I have gained additional certificates in emergency & critical care nursing and anaesthesia & analgesia.
I currently work in a very busy primary care practice in Buckinghamshire as clinical lead RVN where I oversee clinical governance, quality improvement, team training and clinical nursing standards. In both 2019 & 2020 I was named an RCVS Knowledge Champion for the clinical audit & QI work I undertake in practice. In 2019 I was also awarded the RCVS Inspiration award for my ability to inspire and enthuse others - Something I'm super proud of. In 2021 the opportunity arose to join RCVS Knowledge as Quality Improvement Lead RVN helping to promote QI in the profession, which I now undertake alongside my clinical practice role.
Outside of these roles I spread my enthusiasm & love of nursing by blogging to vet nurses globally sharing hints and tips on my @louthevetnurse social media pages and speaking internationally at conferences in my areas of passion.

Amanda became an RVN in 2012, working in clinical practice until 2021, primarily in emergency and critical care. She then spent two years in higher education teaching student veterinary nurses and now works as the inside sales specialist and educator for Essity Animal Health. Amanda is currently completing a degree in health science to expand her one health approach in veterinary nursing and further her knowledge around evidence-based medicine and research.

Ever since a very young age I have always had an interest and love of animals. This interest soon became a passion and at around the age of eleven years old I realised that I wanted to care for animals and become a veterinary nurse. I qualified in 1997 (with credit) and over the years I have worked in various roles both first opinion and referral clinics. Now, over 25 years later I have developed a real passion (and obsession!) for cats.
This desire to deliver the best nursing care to all my patients has driven me to gain additional qualifications and knowledge in all things feline whilst working in practice as a veterinary nurse. I have completed both the ISFM Nursing Certificate and Diploma (distinction) as well as the ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour. I am currently studying to gain my Animal Behaviour Technician’ qualification. I work part time for the charity International Cat Care and am a member of the International Cat Care Feline Wellbeing Panel.

I am an RVN, Coach and Mentor. With a background in teaching and supporting both vets and nurses within practice.
I spent most of my career working in a large referral hospital, North Downs Specialist Referrals where I held several positions. Beginning my journey as a rotating RVN and then eventually becoming Clinical Services Manager.
Whilst in this position I overhauled the Cardiopulmonary training (CPR) protocol and deliver the relevant training. Alongside this I piloted and introduced a robust induction programme. A large part of my role was being a coach and mentor to new joiners, both vets and nurses.
As a RECOVER Instructor I have a passion for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Veterinary Medicine and offer training sessions and CPR RECOVER Rescuer Certification Retreats.
Alongside my RCVS and Linneaus role I am working towards Level 7 in Executive Coaching and Mentoring. The VetMed CPR Coach

Laura began nursing in 2007 in a small, GP branch clinic and became an RVN in early 2010. After working in a variety of first opinion, surgical referral and emergency clinics, Laura joined the internal medicine team at a newly opened referral centre as deputy head medicine nurse in 2015. Here, she fell in love with medicine, leading her to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2019.
That same year, Laura moved to join The Ralph Referral Centre, where she now works as senior medicine nurse, leading and supporting the team of medicine nurses.
After completing her VTS, Laura began a social media page and blog, Veterinary Internal Medicine Nursing. Through this platform, Laura provides accessible CPD to registered and student VNs, via her website, podcast, and social media. She lectures internationally, has contributed to various peer-reviewed journals, and created the Medical Nursing Academy – a community learning platform for nurses interested in medicine – in February 2023.
Most importantly, Laura is still a practicing RVN and loves nothing more than giving great care to her patients, and helping other nurses do the same.
