About

We are a small LGBTQ+ climbing group who came together via a LEAP SPORTS / Out & About Ayrshire initiative in 2023. We meet on a weekly basis at Above Adventure climbing centre in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire . We are there for fun, coffee & cakes - oh yeah, and climbing too. we do autobelays (where you are attached to a rope on a pulley that automatically holds you and lets you lower slowly to the ground) and also belayed climbing - where someone uses pulley and locking devices similar to abseiling to keep you secure ON the wall and lower you safely to the ground at your own pace when you are ready. The emphasis is on inclusion of queer people in an exciting and healthy sport that is non-discriminatory and fun.
