The Southampton Nutrition Support and Intestinal Failure Service has provided multidisciplinary treatment, support and advice to patients with complex gut disorders across the South of England since the early 1990's. The service involves gastroenterologists, specialist colorectal surgeons, nurse specialists, dietitians and pharmacists. The team are respected experts in the field of nutrition support and participate in research, academia and education. There are close links with the NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre which aims to improve nutritional health.The Centre for Nutrition Education Southampton was formed in 2017 to bring together the educational activities of the service.
