Greek Orthodox Parish Cairns

St John's the Greek Orthodox Parish of Cairns commenced in 1994 not only to serve the needs of its own parishioners but would serve the wider community.The church established the Redlynch daycare to look after the young families in the Redlynch region.1997 St Johns Community Care was established and is now playing a major role in the community care services in Far Nth Queensland looking after the frail aged and young people with disabilities.Every year the Cairns Greek Festival is held at Redlynch on the church grounds with over 3000 peole in attendance, sharing and celebrating the cultural diversity in our region.Everyone is welcome to the Greek Taverna NIght on the 24th May 2025 we have Mihali and Nick coming from Brisbane to play traditional Greek music and have attendees dancing the night away.EFunds raised from the raffle go to families in need, and clients of St Johns.
