HSAWA is a community-run service of local parents, grandparents and professionals using lived experience to create brighter futures for thousands of local children. Practical and emotional help is given by volunteers weekly in family homes, on the phone, in Family Groups. The charity also provides a counselling service for parents and support HMP Ford Family days helping to rebuild fractured relationships with children and their non-resident dads. Crucially, all their services are free of charge.Working holistically with the whole family, early targeted, reliable, regular volunteer support enables parents to grow in confidence, increase resilience, strengthen the relationship with their children and feel more connected with their community. This gives their children the best possible start in life, despite the challenging circumstances they grow up in.
