Kristina Barry, MA LPC AADC

Kristina (Krissy) is a licensed therapist based out of Charleston, SC. She believes therapy is very much a personal, creative process in which the journey takes patience and dedication, may turn out to be different than expected, but nonetheless often produces a desirable outcome. Krissy specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families on topics related to identity, gender, sexual orientation, women's-specific issues, relationship stress and codependency, spiritual and existential issues, substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, and life transitions that may bring about unwanted stress.Krissy graduated from Winthrop University in 2010 with Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Spanish. She received her Master's degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from The Citadel in 2013. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC). She is trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT skills, EFT skills, and LGBTQ+ competency. Krissy is also trained in and incorporates empirically-supported spiritual practices, including therapeutic tarot and ritual, into her practice.Krissy's approach is centered around you, hearing you, and working collaboratively with you on where you would like to go and who you would like to be.
