From crate-digging vinyl with his older brother at just 14, to spinning tracks across Europe’s most soulful dancefloors, Matt Welton has been immersed in music from the very start. Kicking off his DJ journey with regular soul nights in Great Yarmouth, he quickly made waves, landing a weekly residency at Club 151 by age 16.His career took off with residencies at iconic venues like Caesars in Great Yarmouth, guest sets at Richards' legendary parties, and appearances at Heavy Soul Cambridge. A summer DJing across Turkey and the Greek Islands expanded his sound and reach even further.In 2010, he launched the Silky Soul brand—a movement that brought unforgettable boat parties to the Thames in London and the high-energy Silky Soul Syndicate weekenders to Great Yarmouth. Silky Soul events earned acclaim across East Anglia, picking up awards and solidifying a loyal following.He’s graced stages from Bratislava to Lanzarote Soulanza Week, Kavos Soul & Reggae Week, and iconic spots like The Jazz Café in Camden. Regular sets across Norfolk, the Margate Soul Festival, and shows in Dublin, Sheffield, and Nottingham showcase his wide appeal.Matt Welton was crowned East Anglian DJ of the Year in both 2015 and 2016, and hosted the Silky Soul Sessions on Totally Wired Radio, bringing his smooth style to listeners across the UK and beyond.Known for blending timeless soul with modern grooves, Matt Welton continues to bring the Silky Soul sound wherever the vibe calls.
