The National Action Network (NAN), founded by Rev. Al Sharpton, is one of the leading civil rights organizations in the Nation, with chapters throughout the entire United States. NAN Sacramento is a leading chapter on the West Coast and shares the mission of promoting a modern civil rights agenda rooted in the principles and traditions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This agenda includes fighting for justice, decency, and equal opportunities for all, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, criminal record, economic status, gender, gender expression, or sexuality.
