Sarah Warren, PhD

Based in Chicago, Sarah Warren, PhD earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. Among other engagements,she has worked with the NFL Program for Substances of Abuse.With over 30 years or experience, she owns a group mental health practice that is grounded in both psychodynamic theory and practices such as mindfulness that help ground themselves in the face of internal and external turmoil.With over 35 years or experience assessing and treating complex cases, she owns a team-based mental health practice that is grounded in both psychodynamic theory and practices such as mindfulness that help orient clients/patients orient and anchor themselves in the face of internal and external turmoil.She is one of the only senior clinical psychologists in the Chicago area who specializes in the assessment and treatment of individuals, couples and families who are struggling withsubstance use, including other complex conditions including personality and mood disorders and complex trauma.Her work with substance use includes bothabstinence-based and Harm Reduction approaches.She enjoystraining, convening, and mentoringcolleagues on working with complex cases from a perspective grounded in psychodynamic theory.She trained at the Institute of Psychiatry Northwestern Medicine (formerly Northwestern Memorial Hospital) and completed a post-doctoral Fellowship at University of Chicago.
