Sister Courage is a feminist self defence and empowerment group.I provide training in assertiveness both physical and verbal, empowerment for women and girls by controlling thier own narrative, and situational awareness to place the action within the frame of decoding the impact on the individual of misogyny in society.This is done by workshops where we explore themes like toxic masculinity, male entitlement and victim blaming by society at large in an effort to concentrate not on the victims of male aggression, but rather on the perpetrators themselves to better spot their toxic effect on our lives.We work on verbal tactics, body language and boundary calling, and simple physical skills as I firmly believe that all forms of self defence can be an option in the continuing struggle against misogyny.
