Studio Frodadottir is the creative space of Icelandic artist, curator, and educator Ragna Froda, offering workshops in collaboration with colleagues and friends. Located in the inspiring Mana Contemporary art center in Jersey City, the studio fosters a vibrant environment for artistic exploration and hands-on learning.Ragna Froda has an extensive background in fashion and textile design and has received multiple grants for her contributions to the arts. Her work focuses on the process of making, color and texture exploration, and the cultural history of symbols and patterns in textiles. With a deep passion for textiles, innovation, and craft, her practice merges traditional techniques with technology to create compelling narratives through hybrid craftsmanship.Early in her career, she ran her own fashion and textile studio in Reykjavík, Iceland. Over the past 15 years, she has lived in New York, Berlin, and Reykjavík, serving as Head of Textiles at the Reykjavik School of Visual Arts before relocating to New York, where she currently runs her studio practice.
