The Winter Players is an emerging Singaporean theatre collective under Singapore Repertory Theatre’s Company-in-Residence Programme whose mission is to explore, resurrect, and reinvent great works of international literature.The collective is a rallying point for the next generation of young, passionate theatre makers committed to bringing the works they love to life onstage. The Winter Players want to share their deep love for classic works with the Singapore audience. And whilst they entertain, to cultivate a shared experience that celebrates both the tradition of classic literature and forms, and the dynamic spirit of present day art, theatre, and audiences.In July 2024, The Winter Players made their professional debut with a sold-out run ofChristopher Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus, followed by a production of Henrik Ibsen'sHedda Gablerat Singapore Repertory Theatre. These milestones have fuelled the company’s momentum as they continue to set the stage for even more dynamic productions to come.
