Zellweger UK is a small charity dedicated to supporting research, raising awareness, and helping families affected by Peroxisomal Disorders, including Zellweger Spectrum Disorder, D bifunctional Protein Deficiency and Acyl-CoA Oxidase Deficiency. Run by parents who are either bereaved or caring for affected children, all trustees volunteer their time to ensure funds go directly to families. The charity offers information, emotional support, peer to peer connections, and grants for life-improving equipment. Zellweger UK also supports research aimed at improving diagnostics and finding treatments for these rare, incurable metabolic diseases.
