Perth Catholic Singles

Living in today’s world as a Catholic can be...challenging. Each passing day it seems that the Church loses more ground as the world normalises a culture free of guilt, restraint, truth, and God. The number and proportion of Catholics in Australia has been steadily decreasing over the last decade; in such a culture, it can be difficult to find other Catholics to connect with. But there are other Catholics all around Perth. The question is, how can we get connected?I’ve noticed something missing—a space where single Catholics can meet, connect, and build community without the high barriers of traditional faith groups. There are numerous great groups for building our faith - but wouldn't it be great if there were more events that allowed Catholics tosimply socialisewith like-minded people? Like the way we do with our non-Catholics friends? Events where you could just chat and get to know each other with no other strings attached?Wouldn't it be great if Catholics could hang out solely for the purpose of connecting with other Catholics?If spending time with other Catholics didn't require you to try to attend a faith workshop or Bible study first? And what if at these events socialising was actually encouraged, rather than just...awkward?So in 2023, I launched Perth Catholic Singles - a welcoming, low-pressure community where Catholic young adults (aged 20–35) can socialise, build friendships, and strengthen their sense of belonging in the Church. Traditional parish youth groups may require more intense faith commitments, and focus on socialising as a secondary element. But Perth Catholic Singles aims to flip this around, providing casual, social events (run about once a month) with the primary goal being to facilitate connection with like-minded people.By joining Perth Catholic Singles, you’re not just making new friends—you’re shaping the future of our Catholic community - and who knows, you may even meet your future husband or wife in the process!So if you’re single, Catholic (or thinking about becoming Catholic), between the ages of 20 and 35, and interested in connecting with other like minded people in a social setting, look no further. Join the Perth Catholic Social Group and let’s close the distance between us!This group will run pretty casually, every 2-4 weeks. For each event, there'll be a fun activity to do while we socialise.
