Perth Catholic Singles

Living in today’s world as a Catholic is...challenging, to say the least. Each passing day it seems that the Church loses more ground as the world normalises a culture free of guilt, restraint, and God, over one of honour, decency, and doing what is morally right. As a Catholic, this can be quite disheartening, and it can make us feel quite alone. We may feel alone in our beliefs, but we’re not; there are other Catholics out there who care how they live their lives - who still believe in pursuing God and what is right over what is comfortable and convenient.Because our faith is very important, I have gone to specific events for deepening my faith and knowledge. However, my faith issoimportant, I've also gone to particular eventsspecifically for the purposeof getting to know other people who share it. And yet, instead of spending time getting to know each other, I find these events focus almost entirely on the one thing we already know we have in common - our faith - and the opportunity to get to know other Catholics on a deeper level is missed. So I thought - wouldn't it be great if there were more events that allowed Catholics tosimply socialisewith like-minded people? Like the way we do with our non-Catholics friends? Events where you could just chat and get to know each other with no other strings attached?Wouldn't it be great if Catholics could hang out solely for the purpose of connecting with other Catholics? If spending time with other Catholics didn't require you to try to attend a faith workshop or Bible study first? And what if at these events socialising was actually encouraged, rather than just...awkward?I'd say those kind of events would have a lot of potential. Potential to create life-long friendships with people who share our values. Potential to create opportunities for Catholics to meet Catholic spouses. I mean, it's great the Church does a lot of events for helping married couples, but those events aren't going to be very useful if there's a singles crisis in the Catholic Church (which I belive there is), and people aren't getting married in the first place. So, that's why I have created this group. If you’re Catholic (or interested in the Catholic faith), between the ages of 20 and 35, and interested in talking about more than JUST your faith with other Catholics, then this is perfect for you! This group will run pretty casually, every 1-3 weeks. For each event, there'll be a fun activity to do while we socialise. Don’t worry though - it won’t be anything too out there. Think things like bowling, mini golf, going to the movies, coffee catch-ups, and board game nights. I hope to see you there! :)
