A Leg To Stand On (ALTSO) is a US and UK registered non-profit offering free high-quality prosthetic limbs, orthotic braces, and appropriately fitted wheelchairs to children with limb disabilities in the developing world. By offering children who have lost their limbs in traumatic accidents or who suffer from congenital limb disabilities the free care they need, they are able to access the opportunities and self-esteem earned through education, work and mobility.Mobility is more than movement, it’s a human right.106 million children live with untreated disabilities in the developing world, and 95% cannot afford care. Our CoolKids survive on just $2.50/day - and without care, 90% will never attend school. Together, we can change that by providing free prosthetic limbs, orthotic braces, and appropriately fitted wheelchairs.
