Arizonans for Children, Inc. was founded in October 2002 by a group of passionate volunteers determined to make a lasting difference in the lives of children in foster care. They envisioned a future where every child could experience meaningful connections with their parents, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. This vision became reality in 2003 when we opened our first Children’s Visitation Center, a warm, home-like space designed to nurture parent-child bonds during their visits. Thanks to the support of a generous donor, in June 2012 we proudly purchased a new building that now serves as our headquarters, allowing us to expand our reach and impact. While protecting children from unsafe environments is crucial, life in the foster care system can still be incredibly challenging. Many foster children face instability, with multiple moves and inconsistent caregiving, often leaving them feeling lost and alone. Recognizing these hurdles, on May 1, 2007, Arizonans for Children took a major step forward by merging with another nonprofit that shared our commitment to foster youth. This merger brought in a comprehensive mentor and tutoring program, further enriching the support we offer to these children.Today, Arizonans for Children continues to provide a powerful combination of programs designed to meet the diverse needs of foster children in Maricopa County, helping them navigate their journey with care, stability, and hope.
