ASCE was founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 140,000 civil engineers worldwide with 4,100 in New Jersey, and is America's oldest national engineering society. ASCE is dedicated to the advancement of the individual civil engineer and the advancement of the science and profession of civil engineering through education.ASCE's mission is to provide essential value to our members, their careers, our partners and the public by developing leadership, advancing technology, advocating lifelong learning and promoting the profession.ASCE is headquartered in Reston, Virginia, and maintains an office in Washington, DC.
