Bob Sykes Bar B Q is a family owned local tradition since 1957. Bob Sykes has been the benchmark for others to match for true southern barbecue. Times may have changed, but nothing has changed in the way Bob Sykes prepares and cooks the famous barbecue and special sauce. The experience and traditions of excellence has been passed down to Bob and Maxine’s son, Van Sykes, who is passing on his knowledge to Jason Jewell, their grandson Three generations of the Sykes family has proudly served authentic southern barbecue that literally goes from the pit to the plate.Bob Sykes Bbq Restaurant has been putting on the Bob Sykes Bbq & Blues Festival since 2010. Each year the festival grows with support of the community and  sponsors. Patrons come from all over the Southeast.  Since 2010,  the Bob Sykes BBQ & BLUES Festival has provided funding for local Alabama charities including Childrens of Alabama, Ady’s Army, Bessemer Education Enhancement Foundation, Hands On Birmingham, Clay House and Latch and Live Foundation.The festival has been chosen for numerous years as one of the top food festivals in Alabama.  There are activites for the entire family of all ages.  Children twelve and under are free with a ticketed adult. Besides great music the festival offers a variety of booths including arts and crafts, outdoor exhibits, legendary Bob Sykes Bar B Q, and a diverse selection of vendors selling tempting offers. The festival is a great way for businesses to promote their brand and company in front of thousands.
