Cathedral of the Incarnation

Affectionately referred to by Long Islanders simply as "the cathedral," the Cathedral of the Incarnation is the mother church of the Diocese of Long Island. It is the seat of the Bishop and home to a lively Christian community.The cathedral close is an oasis of green space in the village of Garden City. The close hosts not only the monumental cathedral building itself, but also the Mercer School of Theology and See House, the historic residence of the bishops of Long Island.The cathedral is a sacred place at the heart of a diverse and busy island. It is a place for souls to find rest and refreshment as they join God's mission of peace and justice. We are also a center of culture, learning, and community for all who enter once or many times over and put roots down in our midst.Here you will find a community of openness and welcome.
