Code/Art is a non-profit whose mission is to increase the number of girls studying computer science by delighting and inspiring them with the creative possibilities of computer programming. We strive to put young women, particularly young women from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, on track for future tech careers by providing welcoming early coding programs that focus on art, creativity and social good. Our key programs include: 1) weekly CodeHER clubs for girls in grades 3-9, 2) Future Female Tech Leaders workshops for girls in grades 9-12, 3) annual coding competition for girls in grades 3-12, 4) Code/Art Fest, our annual all-day coding conference held each spring, and 5) professional development for K-12 STEAM teachers, where we provide training, curriculum, and classroom support to empower teachers to introduce computer science skills to their students in a fun and creative way through Creative Coding lessons and even start Creative Coding clubs and electives at their schools.
