However, Dez's roots trace back to the beautiful island of Montserrat where her parents, Thomas and Eileen Gerald hail from, making her a proud first-generation American. As a first-generation American, she embodies the spirit of perseverance and ambition. Her educational journey led her to Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a strong focus on Accounting. She also holds an Associates Degree in Food Service Management, showcasing her diverse range of talents and interests.Dez's journey from Boston to North Carolina has been marked by her vibrant spirit and commitment to her family. She is a proud mother of three daughters and enjoys spending time with her two cherished grandchildren. Her passions extend far beyond her professional achievements, as she finds solace and joy in the kitchen, creating healthy, delicious dishes, immerses herself in creative projects, embracing the rhythm of life through singing, dancing and loses herself in the world of music. Her adventurous side is equally inspiring, as she takes to rollerblading to experience life's thrill.Dez Gerald's life took a dramatic turn in July 2022 when she received the life-altering diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer. Rather than succumbing to fear and despair, she made the courageous decision to put her thriving career in real estate, staging, and interior design on hold to focus on her healing journey. Dez's battle with breast cancer was a turning point in her life. Through her personal journey, she discovered the power of holistic healing, recognizing that true wellness encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. She firmly believes that GOD designed our bodies to heal themselves, contingent on what we nourish them with and the environments we create internally and externally. Her mission is to raise awareness about adding alternative cancer healing methods to ones cancer treatments and sharing the invaluable lessons she learned during her journey. However, Dez’s commitment doesn't end there. Beyond her business goals, Dez aspires to make a lasting impact through a non-profit initiative. She envisions creating a youth mentor shadowing program and caring for elders by creating a program that provides organic and sustainable, nutritious food delivery and pampering services. Her passion for giving back is evident in her every endeavor.Professionally, Dez Gerald is the driving force behind "DI Real Estate & Staging." With over two decades of experience in real estate sales, she is a distinguished Broker-In-Charge, Stager and Interior Designer. Her dedication to excellence has earned numerous Realtor awards. She holds title of a Certified Accredited Staging Professional since 2007 and Luxury Home Stager since 2018. She was honored with the prestigious Top Individual Stager Award by the International Association of Home Staging Professionals, establishing herself as a luminary in the field. She has served on the board of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals Charlotte Chapter since 2010, where she is currently the 2023 President Elect and will assume the role of President in 2024. In July 2023, Dez Gerald returned to work part-time and her company proudly joined forces with Lifestyle International Realty out of Miami, Florida who had a Grand opening in her local city, Charlotte NC, at the end of June 2023. Dez has also joined forces with E. Wells Realty & Consultancy, The Top Real Estate company in Ghana, Africa August 2023.With her dreams in sight and her determination unyielding, Dez Gerald is ready to take the world by storm. As she redefines her life's purpose, her vision extends into her business. Dez aspires to infuse her business with the principles of living a holistic lifestyle, inspiring her clients to embrace more beautiful and non-toxic living practices within their homes. Her ambitious goal is to receive her Green-Certified Realtor designation by spring 2024, enabling her to offer sustainable and energy-efficient products and materials for houses.
