Dr Joe Klassen ND

Dr. Joe Klassen, ND graduated from Bastyr University in 2005, and has been practicing Naturopathic Medicine in Calgary for nearly 20 years. He has an enduring passion for the role of nutrition and food in family practice. He tries to exemplify the Naturopathic Principle of “Docere”, or Doctor as Teacher in his practice, in teaching at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and his role as a clinical support specialist and educator at Rocky Mountain Analytical laboratory. His practice has been focused on holistic family medicine, with emphasis on digestion, allergies and endocrine balance. He spends much time studying foods and promoting healthy, clean and nutritious food choices and local food suppliers in the community. He has taken specialty training in MTHFR, prolotherapy, colon hydrotherapy, functional medicine, detoxification, hormone balancing, Thyroid illness, fertility and preconception healthcare .An ardent supporter of using all tools available to understand the underlying cause of illness, he brings knowledge of how to integrate laboratory medicine, physical exam, food-based nutrition and clinical experience to improve clinical outcomes. As an entertaining public presenter he enjoys sharing with practitioners of many backgrounds and students of all walks of life.
