Dror Schweid is a conductor, pianist, and arranger, born in Jerusalem. He holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in orchestral conducting -from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany - as well as a bachelor's degree in piano performance.Schweid has conducted orchestras such as the Berlin Sinfonietta, Berliner Symphoniker, Göttingen Symphony, Wernigerode Chamber Orchestra, and TFN Philharmonie. In January 2025, he was appointed Music Director of the Jerusalem Wind Orchestra and also serves as Music Director of the "Uria" Choir in Savyon. In the past, he held musical leadership positions with various ensembles in Germany, including the brass ensemble of St. Thomas Church in Hanover, the Berlin Teachers' Choir (BLGV), and the Musikverein Godshorn Woodwind Orchestra. Most recently, Schweid won first prize at the LWI Conducting Competition in Berlin.
