Duo Dramatique

Hailed as "a force to be reckoned with" whose concerts have been described as "passionate and transporting", Duo Dramatique is a renowned Violin-Piano ensemble based in Houston, Texas.Violinist Dominika Dancewicz and pianist Andrew Schneider have earned recognition for their compelling, eclectic and thought-provoking programs that include significant classical music from every era, as well as jazz, broadway and pop.The Duo’s programming is always thoughtfully planned to communicate with the audiences beyond just the musical content. The ensemble creates contexts that introduce deeply affecting stories based on historic, social and emotional issues featured in the music they perform.The Duo enjoys a number of engagements across Texas, with performances in Houston, Huntsville, Dallas, San Antonio, Boerne and Missouri City. They have also performed in Colorado and Louisiana, by the invitations of the concert series in Georgetown, CO and Lake Charles, LA.​In 2019 they made their debut at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio with a thematic recital devoted to women in music. The concert was recorded and broadcast by Texas Public Radio .They are one of only a few classical ensembles invited to perform at the Cave Without a Name in Boerne,TX where they play in the Cave’s spectacular natural acoustics almost 100 feet underground.The Duo’s other engagements include the Gallery Concert Series at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and Crain Garden Concert Series at the Houston Methodist Hospital. They are a part of the Houston Airport’s Harmony in the Air Program where they perform weekly in the main terminal of the Houston Hobby Airport.Duo Dramatique’s endeavors have been featured by Houston Chronicle, Houston Public Media and Arts+Culture Texas magazine.​Their first full-length CD with VIOLIN SONATAS by Edward Elgar, W.A.Mozart and Claude Debussy was released in 2018 to critical acclaim, with reviews praising “warmth and sensitivity”, “subtle and nuanced performance” and “broad and expansive tone”. Duo Dramatique’s second commercial album "CROSSROADS" was released in 2021 on Navona Label and it was praised for its “fierce and thoughtful performance”. “Crossroads” was placed on the 2022 Grammy ©️ ballot.
