Focus Fairies Mentoring

About

Focus Fairies Mentoring is a community-based nonprofit organization that empowers and uplifts young women and girls of color, ages 7 to 21, on Chicago’s West and South sides who have experienced vicarious trauma, violence, and systemic inequities. Through structured mentorship, Focus Fairies Mentoring seeks to empower young women and girls, helping them discover themselves, achieve academic success, and grow personally. Our comprehensive services encompass health literacy, youth dev., workforce development, and violence reduction. These services are designed to develop protective factors, initiate healing processes, enhance self-assurance, foster empowerment, and promote a safe environment. Our approach is grounded in cultural competency and sensitivity, integrating trauma-informed care principles into evidence-based interventions tailored to the healing of black and brown young women and girls impacted by trauma and violence.
