Food Tourism Management

In 2022, Food Tourism Management (FTM) was founded by Laureen Rashof, International Food Tourism Consultant & Project Manager. FTM specialises in the development and promotion of sustainable food tourism initiatives, focusing on preserving culinary heritage, strengthening regional structures and fostering socio-economic opportunities for cities and regions through food tourism.The company's mission is to educate industry stakeholders, manage and promote sustainable food tourism initiatives internationally. FTM offers support in strategic, project and marketing management while focusing on raising awareness of the potential of food tourism and teaching how to develop it sustainably. More specifically, FTM develops sustainable food tourism strategies for urban and rural destinations and conducts workshops and lectures for destination marketing and management organisations as well as governmental entities aiming to enhance tourism. Additionally, FTM organises sustainable culinary activities and projects, such as food tours and wine tastings.A central aspect of FTM's work is its commitment to the UNWTO’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with sustainability integrated into all projects. FTM ensures a balanced approach between people, planet, and profit. The long-term vision of FTM is to transition into a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting developing countries in creating and sustaining their own food tourism industries.
