Jamie Dew is an innovative podcaster, producer, and mental health advocate whose journey in audio storytelling spans diverse subjects, from film and music to mental wellness and pop culture. He launched his first podcast, The Chill, in 2009, a brief but pivotal start to his podcasting career.In 2013, Jamie introduced The Dew Over, a film podcast that scrutinized the Academy Award winners for Best Picture. The show garnered widespread acclaim, reaching number one on the iTunes Film & Television chart and receiving praise from the AV Club’s Podmass column. After more than 25 episodes, Jamie shifted focus to music podcasting.His next venture, Fully and Completely, celebrated the music of The Tragically Hip. The show dissected the band’s albums one at a time, drawing in nearly 250,000 downloads and featuring notable guests such as Alan Cross, Eric Alper, Jake Gold, and Paul Langlois. It charted as high as number eight on the Apple Podcasts Music charts, establishing a dedicated community of Hip fans.In parallel, Jamie launched A Show of Strength, a mental wellness podcast documenting his personal journey with depression. The podcast and its community raised over $15,000 for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and achieved a peak position of 28 on the iTunes charts.During the pandemic, Jamie ambitiously produced Duel of the Fates, a dramatized podcast of the leaked script for Star Wars Episode IX. With contributions from over 40 voice actors, an original score by Casey Lyons, and immersive sound effects, the podcast was a global success in the Film & Television category on Apple Podcasts.Jamie’s passion for Pavement led to Meeting Malkmus — a Pavement podcast which ran for over 120 episodes. The podcast delved into the band and built a vibrant community of 250+ Facebook members. In a satisfying conclusion, Jamie interviewed Stephen Malkmus on February 14, 2022.In 2020, he developed The SNL Hall of Fame, a podcast the legacy of Saturday Night Live. The first season featured 35 episodes and in-depth discussions with fans, journalists, and pundits. The podcast continues to grow, with an enthusiastic community voting on nominees for the Hall of Fame.The Berman Project explores the poetic and musical work of David Berman while intertwining discussions on mental wellnessIn 2023, Jamie embarked on a trio of podcasts dedicated to The Tragically Hip, culminating in The Tragically Hip Top 40 Countdown, which will conclude with a fundraiser for the ALS Society of Canada.Most recently, you'll find jD hosting The Tragically Hip Top 40 Countdown, where a guest joins our host to share stories and explore 40 classic songs by The HipThrough Dewvre Podcasts & Such, Jamie Dew continues to inspire with his passion for storytelling, music, and mental health advocacy while fostering engaged communities across his diverse podcast catalogue.
