Jess & Christine

Jess and Christine’s friendship began in May 2024 in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC. Bonded by a shared passion for art and coffee, they started meeting regularly in cafes around Asheville to discuss life and creativity. After Hurricane Helene impacted the River Arts District, their favorite meeting spot, they reconnected over coffee in West Asheville, contemplating new ways to stay connected and continue their artistic exploration. This shared vision sparked an idea: to create accessible, welcoming spaces for art and to connect with other creatives. They soon found themselves at 12 Baskets, a community gathering space in West Asheville, where they shared their idea with the friendly staff, who welcomed them warmly. And that’s how their journey began—through creativity and connection, with a desire to rediscover the essence of humanity.Jess is an embroidery artist, photographer, facilitator for feminine cycle awareness, and interpreter. Christine is an experiential artist, therapist, educator, and entrepreneur. Before making western North Carolina her home, Christine directed community health programs in New Mexico, while Jess focused on intersectional photography work in Ecuador. Now, together in Asheville, they explore mixed-media art through connection, creativity, and coffee!
